Randy Goforth can you show and explain proper positioning and breathing for "the teaser"

Pilates
Hi Randy
You asked about breathing well there is so much variations in breathing, I sometimes think the breath is overloaded in today's modern pilates, so I will discuss the technique for starters as I would if I was to teach it, first of all it is a advanced movement, it comes from the rolling back sereis and rolling like a ball
Basic how to do the teaser
Note:- it is vital that technique is everthing before you move on to the full advanced level with legs extended and you can control the movement

Modification level 1 beginners using a band

1. SET UP...hold onto rubber band or any rope or pilates ring for assistance under feet. Knees bent if you can not stretch your legs

The movement
2. Hinge slightly back to just come off your sit bones keeping back in a neutral position
3. Its the pelvis that initiates the rolling back in a controlled manner
4. Rolling onto your spine into the matt
5. Returning back to stage one to the set up head/shoulders spine rolls off matt

**Breathing:- I always prefer to breath in on the rolling back and breath out on the rolling up as you always do on the excursion, and with my advanced student I would ask them to reverse the breath so you can see which works best for them.
I will post a full length of the Teaser in the Discussion board for you with pics..
I hope this has helped you feel free to contact me for more details on this

Louie
