Louie was born in Australia started dancing at a very young age with local dance schools, first Irish then Scottish Highland dancing. He then started ballet classes at 16, and at 18 was noticed by a member of the Russian Kolombok Dance Company, and was asked to join the company, who he stayed with for three years and toured with them around Australia.
During this time, he was also asked to perform as a guest dancer various other dance companies as a principal dancer, and made several television appearances.
In his early 20s he travelled to the UK and spent three years at the Scottish Ballet School, where he discovered contemporary dance. He then auditioned for the Laban Centre in London, and there studied Choreography in Contemporary Dance. This is where Louie was introduced to the Pilates technique.
He then decided to teach Pilates and studied to become a qualified instructor in this and other fields such as Aerobics / Step / Bodypod / Swiss Ball / BOSU / New Body conditioning / Body Sculpt / Studio Resistance Trainer Free Weights / Flex Bands / Foam roller
Louie wanted to focus more on Pilates, and studied an intensive three-year diploma with the Pilates Institute in London. He was then invited to become a tutor on the Aerobics and Pilates course at Westminster adult education in the fitness department, where he became head Pilates tutor, and then an examiner for Pilates and fitness courses throughout London.
